Happy Sunday! I can't believe it is already mid-October and the pumpkin patches are open an in full swing. This week you can check out all the local pumpkin patches and fall festivals, learn about a fun and easy way to decorate your house for Halloween, plus a yummy recipe.
You might have seen on our facebook page that I am thinking of starting to set up a parents' night out or possible different groups like mom's night out, dad's night out, single parents night out, etc. I would love to get your feedback on who would be interested, what you would be most interested in, etc. I was initially thinking of just picking a place an saying everyone who wants to come, just join us, adults only. I am not sure if people have babysitters they like, etc. or if it would be more helpful to set up a night where we work with a local business that can watch the kids for a set fee per child while a group of us meet for dinner somewhere close by. I would welcome all your thoughts, ideas and opinions on this idea, and I am also accepting volunteers who want to help organize (you can e-mail me at LaniM@macaronikid.com if you want to help).
Be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page and turn on notifications to be the first to find out when new giveaways go live, as well as be the first find out about any schedule changes, etc.

In addition to the event listings, remember there are LOTS more events listed in the updated weekly events article including open gyms, story times at the local libraries, craft workshops and more. We also have a Kids Eat Free or Cheap section, a Now Showing section with current productions at local theaters, and a Macaroni Kid Saves section. I have also added the 2015-2016 MCPS school calendar to the newsletter. Just scroll down below the event listings.
