Are you looking for a way to brighten your holiday season? Christmas lights and displays always put my family in the festive mood. Over the weekend, we went to Winter City Lights in Olney and it was a winter wonderland experience for the whole family to enjoy! There is something for everyone; a relaxing festive canopy with bonfires, a trail of lights, axe throwing, face painting, snow tubing, s’more making, picture taking, and more!

When you enter you are welcomed by a festive canopy that is decorated with thousands of twinkling lights and a giant Christmas tree in the middle that continuously changes color to follow along with the music that is playing. The festive canopy has 20+ fire pits that will help roast delicious s’mores and keep you warm on colder nights.

Throughout the night, people of all ages gathered around fire pits and enjoyed the music and concession. Some of the concessions included pretzels, sandwiches, pizza, hot chocolate, funnel cakes, and adult beverages. Our favorite part of the festive canopy was watching the snowfall and getting to play in the first “snow” of the season!

The 1.5 mile long trail of Christmas lights and displays was a blast. We loved all the massive displays and different displays that you could go through or sit on. My children ran throughout the trail and were eager to see what was waiting for them at the next twist or turn of the trail. The trail is a mulch path that has some hills and a few uneven areas, so strollers are not allowed throughout the trail. There is also an early exit a little over halfway through the trail if you want to experience an abbreviated version of the lights.
