Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the amount of resources that are available to you as a parent? Well, this new site (“Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers”) created by Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) has put all their resources for Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers in one place. Now, you and your young reader will never miss out on the fun and learning that happens at our libraries.
Some features of the site include:
- Library Services
- Early Learning Tips
- Choosing Books for Your Child
- Online Resources (that are available 24/7 with a library card)
- Noyes Library for Young Children
- Children Programs
One library service that my family loves is the Discovery Room. Discovery rooms are areas within the library that can be reserved for 1 hour of free play. Discovery rooms include many learning toys, blocks, books, dress up, and more. Discovery Rooms are the perfect activity for a rainy or cold day. The Discovery Rooms are located at 4 different branches across the county (Gaithersburg, Germantown, Marilyn J. Praisner, or Quince Orchard).
“Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers” features the Noyes Library for Young Children, which is a wonderful gem inside the heart of Kensington. It is the perfect spot for young children to play, read, and make friends. My children adore the cozy playroom feel of this library and we have spent many hours playing with the train table and exploring the book shelves for our next favorite story.
I hope “Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers” becomes a great resource for you and your young reader and you are able to take advantage of all that Montgomery County Public Libraries have to offer. There are also other sites created by MCPL for “Kids” “Teens” and “Older Adults.”
