Week days for our family are hectic, to say the least. Even working from home now I have a hard time peeling myself away from my inbox and conference calls to get ahead of making dinner in the evening, especially on days where I have school pick ups and after school activities for my kids. One pleasant surprise to come out of the pandemic has been the great family meal deals that our local restaurants have created to help families enjoy easy and convenient carry out meals and to help themselves stay in business through these incredibly difficult economic times.

1) Sugo Osteria (12505 Park Potomac Ave., Potomac)
Sugo offers a number of delicious family meals. They include a salad, a shared plate, your selection of a main dish and dessert. Sugo offers 6 different main entrees, and the meal deal ranges from $50 (for pizza main dish) to $100 (for crab cakes). We love their chicken parmesan meal deal and always love salad with our meals!
2) Julii (11915 Grand Park Avenue, Potomac)
Readers report that Julii's meal deals are delicious and the portions are generous. Their website lists 4 meal options, between $55-$65. No dessert is included, but as of the date of publication of this article there is a discount code on their website 10% off curbside pick up using the code JULIICURBSIDE
3) Trapezaria (11 N. Washington St., Rockville)
Trapezaria has a number of delicious family meals available on its website. Known for its Greek mezze, you can choose a family meat platter, seafood platter, vegetarian platter or mixed mezze platter. You can also choose between 2 sizes for the meals and order family style size dishes for $5 each. Plus, through the month of March 2021, Trapezaria has some terrific coupons on their website.
4) Vignola Gourmet (11612 Boiling Brook Place, Rockville)
Vignola Gourmet offers 17 different family meal deals on its menu. Each family meal feeds 4-5 people. The meal includes a main dish and two sides. Family meal deals are only available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. You must order by 2pm and dinners will be available between 5-7pm for curbside/in store pick up or delivery (ubereats). Five main dishes on the family meal menu are marked as gluten free. Vignola Gourmet also offers a large assortment of freezer ready meals for ordering.
5) Poyoteca (14921 Shady Grove Rd., Rockville)
Poyoteca opened its Rockville location during the pandemic, a feat that it in of itself is impressive. They offer delicious Peruvian chicken and sides. They are currently offering a family meal deal of a whole chicken and three large sides for $19.99 after 4:00pm. Their website identifies this as a limited time offer and their website lists the normal price for this family meal as $23.99. My family loves Peruvian chicken and Poyoteca has been generating some great reviews! Its on our list to check out soon.
