Lite Sprites - Our Review

September 19, 2011

Last week, we got to play with a new toy.  But this wasn't just any new toy, it is a fabulous light-up wonderland otherwise known as Lite Sprites, by WowWee toys.  The Lite Sprites line consists of a Lite Wand and various Sprites (there was some discussion between the kids as to whether Sprites are fairies, princesses, or just cool, "magic -glowy-girls," Lite Sprite Pets, and Lite Sprite play sets, including a tree house, waterfall, flower, swing, and more.

Before letting the kids try the Lite Sprites out, my husband and I decided we needed to test them out.  I cannot tell you how much fun the two of us had (sorry honey, I have to share), and I even called a few of my friends so they could test them out while the kids were all sound asleep.  As a parent, it is nice every once in a while to feel like you can actually control something.  With the Lite Wand, you can control all the Lite Sprites and make them change colors.  The wand itself seems pretty high-tech to me as you can set it on a color and it "reads" that color.  Then, you get to "bink" (my technical word) any or all of the Lite Sprites and play sets with that color.  You can also have the Sprites interact with each other and change each other's colors.  I must say that every time we have played with them, we have figured out some other cool thing you can do.

The Lite Wand also comes with tons of pre-loaded colors you can bink at all the Sprites...and it even has two games that will help teach your kids about colors and how mixing colors creates new colors.  And...keep your eyes out for a new Lite Sprites animated series which I think your little ones will really enjoy.

Out of the toys we have tested recently, we can already tell that this one will be on the top of many holiday shopping lists.  It was cute listening to the kids explain to their parents what they would do to get more play sets (extra chores, use their own allowance money, beg), but I know that at least most of the parents at our Play Party were going to be buying some additional Lite Sprites sooner than later.

Lite Sprites are available at Target, Walmart, Kmart, Walgreens and online.
