Monster Jam Triple Threat Review

January 29, 2017
This Saturday I was invited to attend Monster Jam at the Verizon Center. If you have been following the site then you already know I am a big fan of Monster Jam. This year, I went with some friends who had never been. It was really fun to see the look on a four year old little girl's face when she realized there were women behind the wheel in two of the trucks. It was also really fun bringing a 33 year old man to his first Monster Jam. It was clear I have a new Monster Jam buddy for life!

This show featured eight monster trucks: Grave Digger, Alien Invasion, Blue Thunder, El Toro Loco, Megaladon, Monster Mutt Rottweiler, Pirate's Curse and Zombie! The show started off with a donuts contest and ended with my favorite part, freestyle. Unlike previous Monster Jam events, the drivers did not only complete in their monster trucks, but also in ATVs and on motorcross scooters and their points across all the events were tallied. The entire show leaves you yearning for more. It's such a fun experience as the crowd is full of excitement and energy and everyone ends up cheering for their favorite driver(s).

Zombie was amazing yesterday, she sure put on a show and got the crowd doing zombie arms to cheer her on! The new truck Megaladon was also a crowd favorite. Each contest during the show is judged by a panel of judges and the crowd score as well! Pirate's Curse was the overall winner and put on a great show!

It's pretty cool to watch these ginormous trucks do wheelies, jumps and other cool tricks so close that you can feel the ground moving. The show closed out with freestyle and each monster truck was able to show off whatever they wanted to do! It was super cool and hearing the trucks rev up was amazing!  I would highly recommend bringing ear protection for you and the kids, you are able to hear everything but it's not too loud.

Monster Jam will be back at the end of February to perform in Baltimore!
