Best Kept Self Subscribed December Box- This is a brand new subscription box service that has truly hit the ground running. They offer a quarterly box service and I was sent a complimentary December box to review. I really did not know what to expect when I first saw this box...but I was truly wow'd. This is one of the few boxes I have ever received where I will actually use every single item that came in the box. The curation was spot on for being practical, fun, pampering, and good-or-you. I was introduced to many new brands I had never even heard of, and have fallen in love with all of them.

If you sign up for Best Kept Self Subscribed right now you will go on the waitlist. It sounds like spots should be opening up before their next box ships in March. BKSS costs $49 per quarter or $179 annually (both options include free shipping) and ships in March, June, September, and December. Subscriptions open two weeks prior to shipping the quarterly box. You can expect your first box within 14 days of subscribing.

The December box included:
  • Cool Gear Water Infusion Bottle - Value $9.99
  • Rebecca’s Herbal Apothecary Energy Essential Oil Blend - Value $4.05
  • Inglot Slim Gel Lipstick - Value $14.00
  • Baron Fig Set of 3 Pocket Notebook - Value $9.00
  • Green Tea Eyes by ToGoSpa - Value $12.50

Although the retail value of this box was about the same as the cost of the box, if you actually purchased any of these items, you'd also have to add on shipping so I still think there is a big added value to being able to try new and unique brands through a service like BKSS.

As I mentioned, I loved everything that came in the box and have been using the items daily. The lipstick is a great neutral color that could work on anyone unlike some of the shocking reds other subscription box services have been known to send out. It is also super nourishing and goes on beautifully. The notebooks are blank, lightweight, thin, and fabulous to bring along to jot down ideas as they hit you. If you follow me on social media, you know I am obsessed with Eyes by ToGoSpa so those were another definite win for me. The Energy essential oil smells fantastic and seems to work really well for me. I have never heard of Rebecca's Herbal Apothecary, but will definitely be ordering more from there...and last but not least, the awesome and easy-to-clean infusion water bottle is something I can always use.

After trying all of these products I will definitely be shopping for them again in the future. I also really appreciate that BKSS includes a card that details each product as well as which member of the Collective Experts hand-picked that item and why. You can tell the team really puts a lot of time, thought and energy into each item and the box as a whole.

Oh, and one more thing came in the box that I thought was super cool. A bobby pin. It fell out of an envelope and I was thoroughly confused by it until I read the letter that went along with it. I do not want to ruin the surprise, but if you sign up for Best Kept Self Subscribed, be sure to open everything. This letter brought a huge smile to my face and fit in perfectly which my mantra of always paying it forward and practicing random acts of kindness.

Last but not least is Loot Crate's February Crate. The theme this month was Play and included a fun mini-mag, a Loot Crate collectible pin, and an awesome box that transforms into a game board. Also included were:
  • DIY Mini-Munny Figure – Value $10
  • Rock Paper Scissors Dice – Value $2 (maybe - these are an exclusive item)
  • Hex Bug Ant – Value $10
  • Ready Player One by Ernest Cline – Retail Value $14
  • Waka-Waka Poster by Manny Peters – Value $20
  • SkyBound Games SUPERFIGHT Card Game – Value $15
  • Firefly online code for premium ship - Value - ?

The total retail value of this month's Loot Crate box is a little over $70 which is great considering Loot Crate costs $13.37 plus $6 shipping a month. You can save $3 off your first box using code SAVE3. While this was not my favorite Loot Crate ever (I love when they include a t-shirt), my family is looking forward to playing the Superfight card game, the rock, paper, scissors die are just plain old fun and will help settle some fights around the house, the book is supposed to be great, the poster awesome, and everything else will be put to use.

If you are interested in signing up for the March Loot Crate box you have until the 19th at 9pm PT to subscribe.
