Mac Kid Rockville's Pick of the Week!

Your Chance to Win a Rockville Rewards Card!!

February 14, 2011

The Rockville Chamber of Commerce recently launched the Rockville Rewards program to help shoppers save money on everyday purchases, raise funds for non-profits to combat increased community need, and generate support for local business.

Rockville area consumers can buy a $25 Rockville Rewards card from one of 15 area non-profits and show the card at participating business for a discount. The card is valid through June 30. Everyday Rewards deals are listed on the Rockville Rewards website.

In addition to the everyday deals, there are weekly deals featuring more substantial discounts valid for one week only.  Discounts vary by business, but include things like 10-25% off at local restaurants, to 10% off at Toy Kingdom on Mondays, to 10% off Talk of the Town party rentals.

“Businesses get increased visibility with no upfront costs, non-profits get financial support and consumers get great deals.”  says Andrea Jolly, executive director for the Rockville Chamber of Commerce. "It really is the perfect win-win situation."

Rockville Rewards not only gives shoppers discounts and encourages them to shop in Rockville, "It's a way for the chamber to take a $25,000 grant from the City of Rockville and turn it into $375,000 in contributions to nonprofits," Jolly said. Consumers interested in purchasing a card can purchase directly from one of the 15 participating non-profits or business locations listed on the website.
