LyveHome™ Personal Photo & Video Manager Review

Capture every moment and relive them with Lyve

By Lani Mark September 14, 2014
*I received a LyveHome to facilitate my honest review. I have also been asked to join the LyveHome Ambassador program to share this awesome device with my friends, family and readers.

LyveHome
is a personal photo & video manager device that brings together the memories scattered across your mobile devices, automatically consolidating them into an easily accessible, organized view. Along with consolidating content from your devices, LyveHome is built with a USB port and an SD slot, so you can bring together memories scattered across various drives into your Lyve account. Your photos and videos are moved and managed across your own personal devices, including your LyveHome, so you know they're always safe and protected.

The LyveHome has 2TB storage which for those who do not know is a HUGE amount of storage! The LyveHome goes into a scrolling picture view with clock when in screen saver mode. Your photos and videos are automatically made accessible across all of your Lyve-enabled devices. They're also copied to your LyveHome as they're captured, ensuring they're protected.

I have been testing out my LyveHome for several weeks and am a big fan. As both a parent and a blogger, I take a ton of pictures which means my phone storage fills up very quickly. I hate when I am at an event or trying to take pictures on vacation only to get an error message on my phone that my storage is full and I cannot take any more pictures without deleting some of what is saved on my phone. That error always arrives at bad times when I don't have a way to transfer or back-up my pictures without e-mailing them to myself which I find to be a painfully slow process and one that uses up tons of my limited data plan.

The LyveHome has been a great find since it automatically downloads all of my pictures from my mobile devices to the LyveHome unit without me even having to think about it. That means when I am out and about and happen to get the error message, I can safely delete all of the photos off of my phone that I do not want to permanently store on there and still know my other photos are safely and securely stored on my LyveHome unit and I can put them back on my phone, iPad, and/or computer any time I want.

As someone who has also lost ALL of my pictures from a hard-drive malfunction caused by virus, it is really comforting to know that God-forbid that happen again, I will not have to have a minor meltdown again.

I also adore that the LyveHome organizes all of your photos and videos for you by date, so no more searching through folder after folder on your computer, or trying to figure out where that one picture was taken and when so you might be able to locate it somewhere.

In order to use LyveHome, you just download the free App for your devices, and leave it running in the background. At my house, I downloaded the App on our main computer, both my husband and my iPhones, and both of our iPads. All of our pictures and videos are downloaded to the LyveHome device any time we are connected to WiFi. If there are pictures we want to delete for good, or just off our LyveHome, it is supper easy to do that via the LyveHome App.

While not something LyveHome promotes, another benefit I have found is that I was able to share my login info with my elderly grandparents who sometimes have trouble downloading pictures I e-mail them. Now that my cousin has put the app right on their iPad and logged them into my account, they can see pictures of our family at the touch of a button. So easy!! Oh, and did I mention it takes less than a minute to set up your LyveHome once you take it out of the box?!

Here is a video featuring Andy Cohen (whom I love!!) talking about the LyveHome!
