Editor's Note: Sorry the newsletter is late this week! With Sandy preperations, I had to take my own advice and put my family's safety first! Please note that many events for this week have been cancelled because of the weather, including tonight's Wreck-it Ralph advanced screening in Silver Spring. Check our Facebook page for closing updates for as long as I still have power! Please stay safe and call ahead about any event you are planning to attend!
Can you believe it is almost Halloween?! I hope everyone has a wonderful time trick-or-treating with their little ghosts, goblins, princesses, (or in our case Skylander) this year if the weather is ok by Wednesday! I am seriously in shock that 2013 is just a few short months away! This week's newsletter is packed so I will keep this short and sweet.
First, a general reminder that MCPS is CLOSED on 10/29 & 10/30 as well as 11/5 & 11/6 and has 1/2 days on 11/12 and 11/13.
As I had mentioned, my trip to Disney is getting closer and closer and I cannot wait!! But, before I head off, we have several great events coming up! We have our Toy Party on November 10th at 2:30 (see the event listings for more info). This event will be open to Mac Kid Rockville readers by rsvp only...but for those able to attend, there may just be some fun giveaways! We hope that lots of you will be able to join us for this great event and if any local businesses are interested in being sponsors with food, giveaways, etc., please e-mail us at [email protected] with PARTY SPONSOR in the subject line.
We also have another special event coming up the afternoon of November 18th. I cannot give you any more details just yet, but I promise you will want to go ahead and block off your calendar now!
For those of you who are local business owners and are looking to share your events, activities and/or classes with thousands of local families, please e-mail me at [email protected] to find out more about becoming a Site Sponsor. If you wish to submit an event, please use the Submit an Event link on the website instead of just e-mailing me the details. Please note that not all events will be included. If your event occurs more then once, please consider becoming a site sponsor if you'd like to ensure that your event appears in the newsletter.

Remember that in addition to the event listings, remember there are LOTS more events listed in the updated weekly events article including open gyms, story times at the local libraries, craft workshops and more. We also have a Kids Eat Free or Cheap section, a Now Showing section with current productions at local theaters, and a Macaroni Kid Saves section. There are also even more listings of things to do for older kids under the events listing section!
