I'm back from Vail with some new ideas for the newsletter, some amazing new publisher friends, and a new Flying Pig! While this may seem silly, the founders of Macaroni Kid were told their idea would never work...and that Macaroni Kid would be successful when "pigs fly." Well, DUCK!!! Cause we have pigs flying overhead all over this country and internationally! For Mac Kid publishers, once a year, we meet up, compare notes, share inspiration, listen to amazing keynote speakers like Lee Woodruff and, sometimes, we even win awards. This little guy below is the first Flying Pig award I have won and he means the world to me!
For anyone planning a trip to Vail, I cannot recommend The Sebastian highly enough! The hotel was beautiful and the staff extraordinary!! The Village of Vail was such an amazing place with fun boutiques, a great coffee shop, delicious food and more.
With my trip to Vail over, I am getting even MORE excited for my Disney Cruise and trip to Animal Kingdom Lodge on the horizon. I also have lots of fun events coming up like our Season's Hottest Toys Party on November 10th at 2:30 (see the event listings for more info). This event will be open to Mac Kid Rockville readers by rsvp only...but for those able to attend, there may just be some fun giveaways! We hope that lots of you will be able to join us for this great event and if any local businesses are interested in being sponsors with food, giveaways, etc., please e-mail us at [email protected] with PARTY SPONSOR in the subject line.
We will also have a fabulous event coming up on November 18th so be sure to watch for details coming in the next week or so.

Remember that in addition to the event listings, remember there are LOTS more events listed in the updated weekly events article including open gyms, story times at the local libraries, craft workshops and more. We also have a Kids Eat Free or Cheap section, a Now Showing section with current productions at local theaters, and a Macaroni Kid Saves section. There are also even more listings of things to do for older kids under the events listing section!
