Calling ALL Mac Kid families!! As you probably know, Mac Kid is a national umbrella of hyper-local sites run by moms & dads within the communities we serve. Macaroni Kid National has issued all the publishers a challenge to grow our subscribers by 100 families within the next 89 days! But, I think we can do even better!!! How about we show them that Mac Kid Rockville can rock it out with over 100 families in the next 45 days?! Now is a great time to share our site with everyone you know! Don't just assume parents have heard of our site before. Remember that for EACH new subscriber that signs up before July 11th, you will also be earning BONUS entries to the How to Train Your Dragon and the Cirque du Soleil: Dralion ticket giveaways!!!!
I hope everyone weathered the storm this weekend ok. It was a bit crazy at my house in Gaithersburg, but we were very fortunate and only lost power for a few hours. Many of my friends, and even my parents in Potomac, still do not have power and it sounds like they may not get it back till Friday night. It was definitely a good reminder though just how important it is to always make sure you know where your flashlights are, have some extra batteries on hand, have gas in your car, some water and food set aside in case you cannot open the fridge, etc. PLEASE BE SURE TO CALL AHEAD ABOUT ALL EVENTS THIS WEEK TO CONFIRM THE VENUE HAS POWER.
Totally unrelated, but as most of you know, I work full time and also run several side businesses. Because of this, it is sometimes difficult for me to come up with recipes, crafts and more for the newsletter. If you have a craft or recipe you would like to see included in the newsletter, please e-mail it to me at [email protected] wih subject NEWSLETTER. Also, please send a pic and be sure to include your byline as you would like it to appear.
If you are a fan of Disney and contemplating a trip to Disney Land or Disney World, be sure to check out our great upcoming event on July 8th (THIS SUNDAY)! Space is limited so contact me at [email protected] to RSVP. You can also follow me as I blog about my Disney journey at http://www.dreamsofdisney.wordpress.com. As a member of the Disney Vacation Club, I will be documenting all of our Disney travels, specials and deals I hear about and more.
Once again I would like to say a very special THANK YOU to our site sponsors who allow us to bring you this free newsletter and website every week! We could not do this without their support! Please be sure to show some super Mac Kid love to Sabrina at Pixie and Pirate Destinations, MarVaTots'n Teens, Willow House with Lani, and My Gym Kentlands! We still have a few spots for more site sponsors. If your business would like to be showcased, please e-mail [email protected] for a copy of our media kit. We are also looking for the perfect spot for a 5 year old boy's birthday party in exchange for a review and advertising. Please e-mail me if this is something you'd be interested in.
Remember that in addition to the event listings, remember there are LOTS more events listed in the updated weekly events article including open gyms, story times at the local libraries, craft workshops and more. We also have a Kids Eat Free or Cheap section, a Now Showing section with current productions at local theaters, and a Macaroni Kid Saves section.
Until next time...Peace, Love and Macaroni!
Have your say
