I recently had the pleasure of hosting a day of pampering for a delightful 7 year old birthday girl. The guest of honor and her friends had an amazing afternoon of indulgence with mini manicures, pedicures and delicious cotton candy facials, and designing their own pretty beaded bracelets.

Far and away the favorite activity of the day was Make Your Own Bath Salts. The girls enjoyed this craft so much that they were concocting one for themselves and then one or two more for their moms and sisters.

The bath salts served as a great double duty party ingredient; it was an engaging activity and a colorful, aromatic party favor. I am happy to share the recipe with you for your next spa party. Just be sure to have extra jars on hand so the girls can make more than one. Have fun!

Mix together in a bowl:

½ cup of salt

3 tablespoons of baking soda

3 drops of fragrance

3 drops of food coloring

Scoop the bath salt mixture into a 4 ounce jar topped with a customized party circle.
