And why you need one!

I love to let you all know about awesome products for your families and I recently received something that I could not wait to share with you!!  While it did not look like much, the Eye-Fi Connect SDHC class 6 memory card has left me giddy.  I seriously don't know why I had never heard about this precious orange gem sooner.  Not only is the card an SD memory card....it also has Wi-Fi built right in that will automatically upload your pictures and videos from your camera right to your computer and even any social media sites you choose (there are 25 websites to choose from such as Facebook, YouTube, Picasa, MobileMe and more).

When you first get the card, you do need to plug in the included USB adaptor, download the software and create your Eye-Fi account, but after that, the card does all the work for you!  While this may not sound like much, it is a HUGE time-saver!  Plus, no more losing (or in my case breaking) SD cards taking them in and out of my camera and my computer.  The card automatically backup your photos while in your camera so there is nothing for you to do or worry about.  It is like having endless memory, right at your fingertips!  The Eye-Fi Connect is also upgradable so you have access to Geotagging and hotspot access.

The Eye-Fi Connect x2 retails for $49.99.  The Eye-Fi cards are also available in several other models including a Mobile x2 card which instantly uploads your pictures to your tablet or smartphone and retails for $79.99, and an Eye-Fi Pro x2 which offers wireless RAW uploads, automatic Geotagging and hotspot access and retails for 99.99.  The Eye-Fi cards are available locally at Best Buy, Walmart, Office Depot, Target, and RadioShack as well as online.

I like the sound of it but I don't get it. How is it any different from the card that came in my phone? I can upload to fb from my phone too. I'm not very good with technology. Can someone who tried this WiFi enabled card explain it to a non-techie like me?

It allows you to do what you can do with your cell (as far as quick, wireless uploading, sharing, etc.) But with your digital camera.
