Weekly Open Gyms & Storytimes

Do you need to get the kids out of the house? Too hot, or cold, or rainy to go outside to play? Here is a list of local businesses that offer free or low cost weekly story times or open gyms.  I suggest arriving early as these events are very popular and fill up quickly.  If you find any of these need updating, please let me know right away at LaniM@macaronikid.com.  Also, since we're heading into summer, you may want to call and confirm these as several events are only held during the school year, or have time changes due to camps.

Mondays:

• Open play @ Discovery Sports Center- 10am-noon (ages 1-10, $2, infants free) Nov. - March
• Free Play @ MarVaTots'n Teens - 9:30-11:30am (crawling - 3yrs. old, $10, or 6 sessions for $50)
• Preschool Playdate @ BounceU Rockville 10-noon (1-5yrs. old, $8.95 per child)
• Trampoline Room open play @ MarVaTots'n Teens - 12-2pm (Ages 3+ $10)
• Trampoline Room open play @ MarVaTots'n Teens - 7-9pm (Ages 3+ $15)

Tuesdays:

• Open Gym @ MarVaTots' n Teens - noon - 1pm (all ages $5)

The Rockville, Noyes, Quince Orchard & Twinbrook libraries also offer a wide variety of story times and special activities depending on the age of your child.  I'd especially recommend you check out the Discovery Room at the Quince Orchard library which is available for use for newborns through age 8.  Also check out kids clinics at Michael's Arts & Crafts, and A.C. Moore.  Another great, free place to play for kids 2-6 is The National Building Museum!
