Mac Kid Pick of the Week - Kid'Sleep!

And Your Chance to Win One!!

May 3, 2011

I am the first to admit it...I love snuggling with my son.  However, this has become a problem as over time my son decided my bed was his bed and that he could no longer sleep in his own room.  When I did get him to fall asleep in his room, he would pop up at like 4 am and want to come into my room and snuggle and play.  I had spoken to our pediatrician, friends, co-workers, and of course, every parent I know to find a solution.  One mom told me about the Kid'Sleep clock.  I immediately went to the companies website and contacted them about their products.  Kid'Sleep sent me a Classic version to try with my son and I must say, it works!

The clock has several options which I love.  For babies, it can be used as a basic nightlight.  As your child gets older, you are able to set a timer which will let your child know when they can get up.  During the night, a picture of a sleeping bunny is displayed.  Once it is the time you have set for your child to get up, the upper picture with a walking bunny is illuminated.  There is no sound, so the clock won't wake your child (though this is another option), but it is such an effective way of teaching your child when they can really get up and start their day.  We followed the suggestions in the manual and gradually moved the "wake" time up back by about 5 minutes every few days.  I'm thrilled to say my son now does not wake us up till about 7am.  (yay!!).

Once your child is old enough to need an alarm clock, the Kid'Sleep is equipped with this feature and will wake your child up to the sound of a birdsong.

There are several other models available including a travel version, a watch, and the newest clock which is an alarm clock for older kids.  For the Classic model, it is available in blue and pink, and additional decorative inserts are available if you'd prefer a bear or mouse instead of a bunny.  The Classic retails for $39.99 and is available online.

Want one?!  Here is your chance to win a Classic Kid'Sleep in light blue.  E-mail Lanim@macaronikid.com with "sleep" in the subject.  In the body, include your shipping address and tell me why you need this clock!  You must be a Macaroni Kid Rockville-Gaithersburg subscriber who is 18+ to win.  Winner will be selected on May 9th and will be announced in next week's newsletter.
