Macaroni Recipe: Stoplight Frozen Pops
One of the best things about summer is all the fresh, seasonal produce! These homemade popsicles are full of sweet summer fruit and lots of great vitamins too. The combination of kiwis, peaches, and strawberries provides plenty of Vitamin A, C, and D, plus potassium, folate, and fiber!

- 2 cups strawberries, washed and hulled
- 2 cups sliced peaches
- 6 medium kiwi, peeled and chopped
- honey to taste, if desired

Desperate for something to entertain the children on our upcoming road trip, I wound up shelling out some serious cash this weekend for the double-screen in car DVD gadget; spent time organizing playlists after a download of Pixar and Disney Princess tunes; found an audio book version of the first Harry Potter from my library; and searched the house for my iTrip gadget - which still somehow eludes me. So, why am I still nervous with 16 hours between my house and my destination, and more significantly - 16 ...

Macaroni Craft: Splash Bomb
Let the kids cool off a bit this summer with this oh-so-easy and reusable splash bomb that will keep the kids wet and giggly all summer long!
What you need:
Take three slightly dampened sponges. Most come damp but if they're too dry, lightly dampen them. Using your scissors, cut the sponges lengthwise into five individual strips.
Stack them up as shown!
Then, simply tie a piece of the string around the center ... and pull tightly!
Finished product! Trim ...
What you need:

Friday, June 22 - Junior Detective Day
Attention Junior Detectives. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to participate in training sessions to receive your Junior Detective Badge. Put your skills to the test when you visit a variety of stations.
Gaithersburg Police Officers will be on hand to help participants make I.D. badges and get fingerprinted, to learn about neighborhood safety, to witness K9 demonstrations, and to explore an actual police car and motorcycle to see all the high tech equipment police officers use. After completing all training sessions, new recruits will be sworn in as “Junior Detectives” by Gaithersburg Police Chief Mark Sroka.
