What a busy week!  My son started at a new daycare yesterday, I went back to work on a new case yesterday, and we're off to see Cirque du Soleil Totem in Baltimore this week.  This week's newsletter has two fun book giveaways for you to enter, a fun craft, advice for juggling Spring and sports, as well as how to help your children transition to college.  So, without further adieu...

The winner of the 4 pack of tickets to Imagination Movers is: Megan Peluso!

The winner of ...

Mealtime - By Elizabeth Verdick

And A Chance For You To Win One!

I was recently sent a copy of Mealtime, a toddler board book by Elizabeth Verdick.  This is the ninth book in the award-winning Toddler Tools series.  In this book, kids learn about healthy nutrition and table manners.  Mealtime makes yummy-in-the-tummy time simple with phrases kids will remember and repeat, like "We eat our fruits and veggies to grow up strong and healthy."  The book covers important mealtime routines from washing hands to trying new foods to sitting still until "Mealtime's done...time for more FUN!"

This book is adorable ...

green paint (or basket color you prefer)

While it is drying, cut out several flowers in different colors. Glue flowers to the inside of the basket "hole" so it looks as though they are ...

Mrs. Pinkelmeyer and Moopus McGlinden Review

And Your Chance to Win a Copy!

Have you ever heard of Mrs. Pinkelmeyer?  I will be the first to admit that I really hadn't, esp. since I have an almost 4 year old son and the name made me think this book was tailored to little girls...but let me tell you...I was wrong!  This book has become one of my son's favorites so I've had a chance to read it MANY times now.

Children across the globe all have one thing in common: they want to feel loved, safe, and secure ...

Helping Students Make a Successful Transition

from High School to College

Thousands of American teenagers who are now enjoying “life at the top” as high school seniors will soon find themselves navigating a brand-new landscape as college freshmen (or first-year students) in September. Many will find the transition to be an easy and seamless one; the majority will encounter some difficulty that will be ironed out by the end of the academic year or the start of the next one. Others will be unprepared, and unable to adapt to the academic demands of college or to the challenges and temptations of ...

Spring and Sports

For many of us, spring time usually brings loads of sports. Whether it be soccer, baseball, or softball, we spend a lot of time around ball fields. As parents, that can cause a lot of stress, disorganization, and not-so-smart choices. I've compiled a few ways to make it easier and stress-free!

-First off, get your ball player included! If he/she is old enough to play team sports then they are old enough to help out. Hang a chart at their level so they can see when practices and ...

This Week's Calendar:

February 17th through April 11th

Thursday, February 17 through Sunday, April 10 - Jack & the Beanstalk

Fe-fi-fo-fum. A timely version of the classic children’s tale about the young lad that doesn’t know beans about trading, but still manages to climb his way to the top. The first half of the story follows the familiar track, but the second half turns into a rescue of the Giant’s servant, rather than the traditional crime spree found in most versions. Jack finds that happiness lies in helping others rather than mere personal gain. Told with rod puppets and some surprising twists, Jack has long been a favorite of our audiences.

Tuesday, April 5 - Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing

Peter Hatcher's life would be great if it weren't for his toddler terror of a brother Fudge. For an end-of-school essay about his fourth grade year, the subject turns out to be Fudge, not Peter. Peter writes about his little brother's refusal to eat or to open his mouth at the dentist, a catastrophic third birthday party, and getting blamed for Fudge knocking out his two front teeth. In addition to helping out with Fudge, who gets all the attention, Peter gets blamed for everything. It's enough to make a kid feel like a fourth grade nothing. Don't miss this hilarious musical about sibling rivalry based on Judy Blume's classic children's novel.
